Here are some facts on the society and culture of the Lombards.
The Lombard men had long beards.

Living in Italy it was hot, which affected there clothing choices, so most Lombards wore one thin layer of clothing, a big change from where they were they are thought to be originally from, Scandanavia.

The Lombard social system was divided into four parts:
A noble class
A class of free men and woman who were peasants

A class of un-free people (but not slaves) who were peasants that worked for the Lord of the Mannor but got “paid”
And there were slaves.
It was a Feudal society really.
